BOTTLE CAP ROCKETS is a New Jersey based three piece Rockabilly/Roots-Rock band formed by Singer/Songwriter Al Gross (Al has sold a number of his works to Universal Music for use in movies and TV shows including the Academy Award winning film Monster starring Charlize Theron).
In late 2009 Al started writing and demoing a collection of songs. The next step was the formation of a band. After a few bass players and drummers came and went, band member Chris Wolfer (Bass) arrived in September of 2011. Veteran drummer Johnny Powers followed in October of 2012.
BOTTLE CAP ROCKETS’ music has a vintage vibe infused with a modern sensibility. This approach allows BCR to sound fresh while remaining true to their roots. More than 25 shows have been performed around the Tri-state area. BCR performed at the legendary MAXWELL’S of Hoboken as well as opening for national recording artist “Eric Lindell” at MEXICALI LIVE of Teaneck NJ. It takes some confidence and musicianship to rip away the layers of complication in a world where this style of music has been left out in the cold for far too long.
